How to Use llm2files

Getting Started

llm2files helps you extract and organize files from LLM chat outputs like ChatGPT or Claude responses. When an AI generates multiple files in a single response, this tool can parse and structure them for easy download.

Step 1: Get the Right Format

First, copy the prompt using the "Copy Prompt" button and paste it into your chat with the AI. This ensures the AI responds with the proper file delimiter format.

Step 2: Expected Input Format

Your LLM output should contain file delimiters in this format:

-----filename.ext----- File content goes here... -----folder/another_file.ext----- More file content... -----folder/subfolder/deep_file.ext----- Nested file content...

Step 3: Input Your Data

You can either:

Paste directly: Copy the AI response and paste it into the textarea
Upload a file: Save the AI response as a .txt file and upload it

Step 4: Process and Download

Click "Process Input" to parse the files
Browse the generated file tree to preview content
Optionally change the folder name
Click "Download ZIP" to get your organized files

Tips

The tool automatically creates nested folder structures based on the file paths
All folders are expanded by default for easy browsing
Click on any file in the tree to preview its content
The folder name can be customized before downloading

Troubleshooting

If no files are found, ensure your input contains the correct -----filename----- delimiters
File paths should use forward slashes (/) for folders
Make sure there's content between each delimiter pair
